Know God
The God of Hope already knows you, loves you, and pursues you. This is not about religion and rules, but a relationship with our Creator.
The truth is that we all rebel in many ways against our holy God. Sin means to miss the mark and results in separation from God. We need forgiveness.
Jesus died for our sins and is risen from the grave. In Jesus, there is infinite hope. No one loves you more than the Lord. Love includes sacrifice and action. Salvation is free for us, but not for Jesus.
Grace is an undeserved gift. When you decide to follow Jesus, you have peace with God, a pardon for all of your sins, eternal life, and a place in God’s family forever. Just choose hope. Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we have an indestructible hope daily and eternally.
Is there anything preventing you from making the decision to put your trust in Jesus now?
It’s the best decision you will ever make.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
THE ONE DECISION
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
I HAVE DOUBTS
The Bible is full of characters who had doubts about their faith and the trustworthiness of God, including Adam and Eve, Jonah, Gideon, John the Baptist, and Thomas to name a few.
Doubts are a normal part of the human experience, but they need to be managed properly. Doubts can lead to disobedience if not addressed, but they can also drive one to a deeper relationship with God if handled correctly.
DOES GOD EXIST?
There are several types of evidence for God’s existence, including the intelligent design and beauty of creation, the human desire for relationships and worship, the moral compass we possess, and the personal revelation of God through the Bible and Jesus Christ.
What is important is that knowing about God is not enough. It’s essential to have a personal relationship and trust in God, especially through faith in Jesus as the Messiah and Savior.
IS GOD GOOD?
In answering this question, it’s important to distinguish between the cultural view of “good” (based on immediate feelings or desires) with God’s standard of goodness, which is perfect and holy.
God’s goodness is not just a theological concept, but can be personally experienced and enjoyed by those who put their trust in Jesus.
WHAT IS THE TRUTH?
Truth is critically important in all areas of our lives, from academics to relationships to faith.
The discovery of truth is made more difficult with the lies, deception, and false teaching prevalent throughout the world, which can lead to confusion and harmful consequences.
Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life” and the Bible provides the ultimate source of truth that we should trust.
I DON’T LIKE RELIGION
Many people have had negative experiences with religion, often due to hypocrisy, abuse, or false teachings they’ve witnessed in religious settings.
Jesus himself was critical of religious hypocrisy and self-righteousness, so those feelings are understandable.
What you must know is that Jesus offers a relationship of love and truth, which is different from the “dead religion” that has hurt people.
DON’T ALL GOOD PEOPLE GO TO HEAVEN?
Heaven is real and God wants everyone to spend eternity with Him there. However, the question is how do we get to heaven?
Good deeds alone are not enough to earn a place in heaven. No one is perfect enough to achieve salvation through their own efforts.
Trying to earn our way to heaven through good works leads to either pride or shame. The right approach is to humbly accept God’s gift of grace by putting our trust in Jesus as our Savior.
GOD WOULDN’T FORGIVE ME
No sin is too great for God to forgive. There are countless examples of people in the Bible who were forgiven, like Mary Magdalene, Paul, David, and Peter.
God’s grace is greater than any sin, and He is always ready to forgive and restore those who come to Him with a contrite heart.
No matter what you have done, God is willing to forgive you and give you a fresh start if you turn to Him. There is always hope and assurance of God’s boundless love and mercy.
IT GOES AGAINST MY POLITICAL BELIEFS
There can be a perceived conflict between politics and faith, but they are not inherently opposed. Politics is about governing and leadership, which is important, but should not be elevated above faith in God.
Politicians and political systems are flawed and cannot provide the ultimate answers or salvation that people seek. Only Jesus Christ can truly satisfy the human heart and provide eternal hope.
AREN’T ALL RELIGIONS BASICALLY THE SAME?
You can certainly find similarities between various religions, especially when comparing monotheistic (those who believe there is only one God) faiths like Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.
Still, while religions may share some common moral teachings, they cannot all be equally true at the same time.
A careful examination of the evidence will lead you to understand that a personal decision to trust in Jesus is the only way to salvation and eternal life.
I’M TOO YOUNG NOT TO HAVE FUN
There is a common view among young people that they can put off following God until later in life, when they are done having “fun”. This is unwise, as we are not guaranteed a long life.
You’ll discover more joy and fulfillment in living for God, and giving up the partying life. This is the “chocolate-covered poison” of sin, which may feel good initially but has a high cost and negative consequences.
Research from Harvard demonstrated that an active faith life leads to more purpose, forgiveness, happiness and benevolence compared to living solely for oneself.
I’M CONFUSED. IS IT GOD OR JESUS?
Are we talking about God? Are we talking about Jesus? How can it be both?
The concept of the Trinity in Christianity can be confusing. It is the idea that God is one being in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.
An important part of our faith is that we should not try to define or limit God, but rather respond to how God has revealed himself to us through Jesus and the Bible.
I’LL LOSE MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS
When following Jesus, there may be changes in family and friend relationships. Some may be supportive, while others may distance themselves or even become hostile.
Jesus should be the top priority, even above family. This doesn’t mean pushing away those you love, but prioritizing Jesus above all else.
By following Jesus, you gain a new spiritual family – the global community of believers. These new relationships will be very meaningful, and will help you grow.
