The One Vision

Would you like to see your city transformed through Jesus Christ into truly being a shining light on the hill?

The mission of The One Vision is to work together to put Jesus Christ at the center of all we do, to build unity throughout the Church, and through Him to spiritually heal and strengthen our communities.

The One Vision is a citywide plan designed to accomplish all three of these goals as we are faithful to Jesus…together.

With the churches of our communities coming together with one vision and one voice we are able to dramatically multiply the Body of Christ. We do this through the simple, Biblical strategy of equipping and encouraging everyone in our churches to lead one person into the community of faith. Within one year, the community of faith in your city would double. What impact would that have where you live?

    How It Works

Here are the elements of how and why The One Vision works.

    The Gospel
The good news is that Jesus is the Messiah who died for our sins and rose from the grave. Jesus saves. A relationship with God is received, not achieved. Grace is an undeserved gift that includes the forgiveness of sins, eternal life, peace with God, and being in His family forever. The gospel is for everyone, but many have not heard it yet, and others have strayed away and are isolated. (John 3:16)

    The Plan
Jesus wants everyone to have an opportunity to know Him. God’s plan is to reach your city one person at a time. All churches should be united with purpose. Every follower of Jesus is called to lead people to the Lord. God declares that we are all His ambassador and need to actively share our faith. Jesus is too good for us to continue to be silent, selfish, and scared. (Luke 15:3-7)

    The Hope
Jesus empowers all of us to be intentional and live with purpose. We want to live and love like Jesus. God wants to fill us with the Holy Spirit and the indestructible hope of Jesus. We are designed by God to receive and give hope where we live, work, learn, and play. Jesus is the answer. Say “Yes” to Jesus and lead one person to Him this year. Just choose hope. (Romans 15:13)

    The Essentials

    • Jesus is the One who saves (John 3:16, Matthew 1:21, Acts 4:12)
    • Jesus calls all of His followers into the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Matthew 24:14)
    • Jesus prayed that we would unite to lead the world to Him (John 17:20-23, Matthew 9:35-38, Matthew 6:9-13)

    The Questions

    • Global: How can we reach over 8 billion people with the gospel? (Mark 16:15)
    • Local: How can churches be healthy and rapidly grow? (Acts 2:42-47)
    • Personal: How can we be faithful to Jesus? (Romans 14:12)

    The Strategy

    • Pastors encourage everyone in their church to lead one person to Jesus and their community of faith in one year. (2 Corinthians 5:16-21)
    • Churches utilize the free resources, including those offered through Just Choose Hope so their people will ignite, unite, and take flight. (Romans 15:13)
    • People are filled with the Holy Spirit, homes are filled with peace, churches are filled with hope, and communities are filled with the gospel (Acts 5:41-42)

    The Next Steps

    • Make a commitment to say “Yes” to The One Vision and join a one vision team (Matthew 5:37)
    • Pray for God to do beyond what you can imagine this year (Ephesians 3:14-21)
    • Set a plan for mobilizing your entire church (Ephesians 4:12-16)
    • Partner with as many other churches in your community for maximum impact and to raise the banner of Jesus Christ together. (Romans 15:5-6)

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

    Ephesians 4:11-13

How To Launch The One Vision In Your Community

Each city is encouraged to customize your own one year plan as you come together with a single purpose as the Body of Christ.

However, we strongly encourage you to launch The One Vision in your church, and with other partnering churches, with the 28 Days of Hope program we put together (and that is free to use). It’s uniquely designed to ignite your entire congregation to their divine purpose, encouraging them to receive and give hope daily.

28 Days of Hope is a journey together, as we rediscover and recommit to God’s indestructible hope in transformative ways. It reenforces in everyone that we each have a unique ministry to share Jesus where we Live, Work, Learn, and Play.

Each of the four weeks has a different focus and theme. Personal time with God, small group discussion with friends and family, as well as the weekly sermon, will all work together in terms of inspiration and application.

Week 1 HOPE GIFTS: Receive hope from God

Week 2 HOPE SHIFTS: Overcome hope thieves with God’s help

Week 3 HOPE HABITS: Abide daily with the God of hope

Week 4 HOPE IMPACT: Bring the hope of God to other people

For each of the 28 days, there are daily written and video devotionals for you as you seek God.

In addition to Scripture and prayer, there is a video that covers a hope story from the Bible. The written piece is connected to the video devotional to help you go deeper with God.

Pastors will provide the sermons to their congregations during the 28 days. We provide sermon notes and outlines for you to use in preparation.

All of these resources are available through the Just Choose Hope website at no cost to you (including free downloadable PDF files). If you decide to print booklets for your congregation (which we do recommend for higher engagement) then we can connect you to a quality printer who is offering these services at direct cost.

Once your congregation goes through 28 Days of Hope, it is our prayer and expectation they will be excited about their divine ministry calling, and will look forward to getting equipped to give hope where they Live, Work, Learn, and Play.

They will feel confident and committed to bringing people to Jesus, and into the community of faith.
