Chapter Two – THE REALITY OF SIN
God’s judgment is righteous. God has standards. God is holy. The Word of God is powerful and transforms us. The law reveals God’s character.
God’s commands are not suggestions.
We will come before God and be held accountable for intentional and unintentional sin. This includes sins of commission, the wrong that we do, and sins of omission, the good that we fail to do. This is very humbling. The law makes it clear that we have all sinned and need forgiveness and a relationship with Jesus.
We can’t save ourselves.
Jesus paid the penalty for all of our sins. We are all loved by God and made in His image. We must make a decision to follow Jesus and receive His grace. Propitiation means the wrath of God is satisfied through the precious blood of our Lord. We take communion to repent and remember this comforting fact. Jesus is worthy of our praise, devotion, and affection. There is no other way to heaven except through faith in Jesus.
Just Choose Hope

HOPE POINT
The law reveals how much we need forgiveness and the Savior who can rescue and redeem us.

PRAYER
Holy God, You are righteous in all of Your ways. We are guilty of rebellion that is both intentional and unintentional. We have broken Your law and standards. Have mercy on us today. Thank You that You do not reject us as we turn to You with contrition. Forgive our iniquities we ask and heal our land for Your glory. We lift up these requests sincerely in Jesus’ name, amen.
