Chapter Seven – THE INTERNAL BATTLE
We have a covenant relationship with God. The new covenant is based on the death and resurrection of Jesus. God keeps His promises and is faithful, even when we are unfaithful.
The struggle with sin never ends this side of heaven.
We are tempted every day. We do what we know is wrong. We do what we tell others not to do. We have hidden and secret sins that others don’t know about. The good news is that there is victory in Jesus. We are being transformed to become like our Lord. There is a way out of every temptation.
The Holy Spirit convicts, teaches, and trains us.
The Scripture sanctifies us. It’s been said that sin will keep you from the Bible or the Bible will keep you from sin. The penalty for sin has been paid and the presence of sin will be gone in heaven. Until then, cultivate the habits of daily prayer, repentance, and reading the Bible.
The light of Jesus is greater than the darkness.
The grace of God is greater than sin. Even when we are wretched, Jesus is the answer. Abide with Jesus, and you will bear much fruit.
Just Choose Hope

HOPE POINT

PRAYER
Gracious God, You are patient and kind. Forgive us for our hypocrisy. We often do what we say we hate and won’t do. We prefer to remove the speck in someone else’s eye before removing the log in our own eye. We want to live with integrity. Thank You for a way out in every temptation. Thank You for Your word which is our sword in the spiritual battle and truth to remove lies. Thank You for the renewal through the Holy Spirit. We praise You for Your power, wisdom and hope. We praise You Jesus, our Deliverer, amen.
