BOOK OF PSALMS

PART tWO: Psalms 15-28

READ: PSALM 16

DEVOTIONAL

PSALM 16

The message of eternal life is found in the Old Testament. There’s victory over death in this Psalm. This is Messianic because it describes how Jesus overcame the grave. The book of Acts in the New Testament quotes Psalms 16. The resurrection of Jesus fulfills this prophecy and confirms that Jesus is the Savior of the world.

David describes the infinite joy in God’s presence.

God is the source of our contentment and security. Prayer is relational. God invites us to draw near. God will never abandon us, and we don’t need to fear death. Jesus satisfies our thirsty souls. Drink deeply from the well of living water. Living a fast-paced life, getting distracted, and forsaking time with God will leave you dry and empty. Sin is no substitute for the presence of God. Taste and see that the Lord is good.
