BOOK OF PSALMS

PART ELEVEN: Psalms 141-150

READ: PSALM 145

DEVOTIONAL

PSALM 145

David pens a grand doxology with overflowing praise. David has pure excitement about who God is. David loves to talk with God and talk about God. David talks with God about people and talks with people about God. There are many verses in this Psalm you can meditate on or memorize. If someone asked you about God, you could read this Psalm as a great starting point.

The character of God is flawless and inspiring.

God is holy, trustworthy, gracious, compassionate, just, and merciful. God’s kingdom is unstoppable, universal, and personal. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God always loves us, is our burden-bearer, close to the brokenhearted, and a generous provider. We run out of words to describe His greatness because He is eternal. We will praise Him for eternity and be with Him forever.

We have been adopted into God’s family through Jesus.

One generation tells the next generation about our glorious Savior. Worship God with all your mind, heart, and soul.

PRAYER

Father God, You are perfect in all Your ways. You never sin. You are all-knowing, omnipotent, and omnipresent. You are full of compassion and rich in love. You are holy, and Your wrath is just. We refuse to be silent about who You are and Your salvation. May the nations and generations hear and rejoice. We have no higher calling than to walk with You and serve You every day. You are our deepest joy and treasure. We praise You with our voices, minds, and hearts. In Jesus’ powerful name, we pray, amen.
