BOOK OF PSALMS

PART FOUR: Psalms 43-56

READ: PSALM 46

DEVOTIONAL

PSALM 46

God’s peace is received when we are surrendered, still, and silent. We can listen to His tender voice. We find shelter under His wings.

We know that we are never alone.

We are reassured that He will be exalted above the nations. There are times in life when it feels like everything is falling apart and out of control. Where do you turn in those moments? God sustains us and comforts us in the darkest valleys. We reject sin and rebellion.

God’s presence makes the difference.

In heaven, there will be no more death, war, violence, temptation, doubt, pride, sin, fear, or demons. We look forward to that day when we will finally see Jesus face to face. Until then, God is our help in times of trouble. We aren’t defeated because Jesus is our living hope. There is a fountain of joy in the Lord that is greater than our grieving. Be strong and take heart because Jesus will prevail.

Just Choose Hope

PRAYER

Almighty God, You are always in control. Your plan is good and trustworthy. We want to walk by faith, not by sight. In this world, we will have trials, but Jesus, You have overcome the world. Teach us to abide with You in all moments. We reject fear because of Your powerful love. Your presence makes the difference in our lives. We draw near to You now. We praise Your glorious name, Jesus, amen.
