BOOK OF EPHESIANS

PART THREE: SPIRITUALLY DEAD

READ: EPHESIANS 2:1-10

DEVOTIONAL

EPHESIANS 2:1-10

The Gospel is that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the grave. Jesus saves us by His grace.

We don’t earn a place in heaven.

We have all sinned and fall short of God’s glory. We deserve separation from our holy God. We don’t contribute anything to our salvation. We are saved by faith alone in Christ alone. God’s mercy is greater than our rebellion. God demonstrates His love by sending His Son, Jesus, who paid the full penalty for our transgressions.

We were dead in our sins but made alive through Jesus.

Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Paul brings gospel clarity in the significant section of Scripture. God has uniquely and wonderfully designed each of us in His image. We are masterpieces, created with love by our heavenly Father. God has called us to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth. There will be people from every nation in heaven. Jesus saves.

PRAYER

Holy Father, You take what is dead and make it alive. Jesus, You are the resurrection and the life. There is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved. Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through You. Our hearts are filled with gratitude. Because of Your great love, we are not consumed. Your mercies are new every day. We trust You, Lord Jesus, and rest in Your promises, amen.
