READ: EPHESIANS 5:1-20

EPHESIANS 5:1-20
Imitate Jesus and become like the Lord. This includes loving people well. Reject temptations and guard your heart. Purity glorifies God: no pornography, sex before marriage, or adultery. Marriage is a covenant unto God between a man and a woman. Keep the marriage bed pure.
Think and pray before you speak.
If it doesn’t honor the Lord, don’t say it. Bad company corrupts good character. You might need more space in some relationships. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Christian life is supernatural. We can’t do it on our own strength. The Holy Spirit will give you a new kindness, gentleness, joy, self-control, and love for people. Life is short, and evil is real. Hold onto what is good and reject all lies and deception.
Make the most of your opportunities to glorify Jesus.
God’s kingdom is eternal. Don’t be discouraged or distracted. Keep your eyes on Jesus, our living hope.

PRAYER
Merciful God, Your forgiveness is eternal through Jesus. Thank you for sacrificing for us. The cross demonstrates Your matchless love. We want to live like You, Lord. Change our hearts so we align with Your perspective and plan, we ask. Forgive us for missing opportunities to lead people to You. Thank You, Jesus, that You are the light of the world. We want to shine brightly for Your glory. Empower us to transform our cities, we ask, in Jesus’ name, amen.
