BOOK OF EPHESIANS
PART ELEVEN: FAMILY UNITY
READ: EPHESIANS 6:1-4
DEVOTIONAL
EPHESIANS 6:1-4
God gives parents a wonderful responsibility to shepherd their children and train them in the way of the Lord. Prioritize the spiritual needs and life of children. Many parents focus on academics and athletics but neglect the most important aspect of following Jesus.
Children need the nourishment for their souls that comes from Scripture.
They need a community of faith in a local church. They need to learn how to worship, pray, and share their faith. Parents are primary in helping a child know God and walk with Him throughout the week. Jesus loves children. Parents need to rely on God for strength, patience, and self-control. Every child is a gift from God.
Kids are secure when they know how much God and their parents love them.
Children are called to obey and respect their parents. Honoring God includes honoring mom and dad. Families should pray and read the Bible together at home. Have rich conversations, serve, and grow in your faith together.
