PART THIRTEEN: THE ARMOR OF GOD

EPHESIANS 6:10-24

Jesus wins. God will prevail, and the battle belongs to the Lord. There is a fierce war between good and evil, truth and lies, light and darkness.

God is our strength and shield.

God empowers us to put on all of the armor that He provides. Don’t be naïve or spiritually sleepy. Don’t be discouraged or act like you are defeated. Don’t be in denial or deceived. Walk in the light, love, and truth of Jesus.

God is with you, and God is for you.

Have your confidence in the Lord. God gives you Scripture, which is your sword. Read the Bible, do it, and share it with others. When you are tempted, quote Scripture like Jesus. Have a verse for your times of temptation. The devil and demons are defeated foes. God will throw them into the lake of fire. The Holy Spirit inside of you will guide and comfort you. God is faithful with His promises. Keep praying and trusting God. If you abide with Jesus, you will bear much fruit.

PRAYER

Almighty God, may You arise and Your enemies be scattered. Jesus, we know You will return and reign forever. God, we stand with confidence in You. The Holy Spirit in us is greater than any darkness in this world. We rely on You for protection and provision. We ask for courage. Thank You that Your perfect love drives out fear. Thank You that we are more than conquerors through Jesus. We praise You, Lord, and pray in Your glorious name, amen.

YOUR NEXT STEPS

Take time to reflect on what God has done in your life during the last thirteen weeks through the book of Ephesians. With God’s help, you have invested time in God’s Word, and now you know a book of the Bible well. You have cultivated the habit of seeking God daily and listening closely to Jesus. The book of Ephesians teaches us how to pray, repent, trust, live, and be bold for God.

God’s Word guides you where you live, work, learn, and play.

The Holy Spirit has empowered you. You have gained confidence in God and will live more courageously for Jesus. Review your devotional notes and celebrate the Lord’s love and truth. Choose verses from Ephesians to memorize as you walk by faith. God wants to lead you into new victories through the power of the Holy Spirit.

As you abide with Jesus, begin to dream again about what God wants to do in your life.

Think about how God has provided, guided, and protected you. God has blessed you to be a blessing. Jesus is the One who heals us and satisfies our souls with Living Water. Give thanks to God for all breakthroughs and shifts in hope. God renews our minds, restores our hearts, measures our steps, and revives us in the deepest ways. The book of Ephesians reveals how much joy there is in God’s presence and God’s purposes.

Be devoted to spreading the gospel.
