STAGE TWO: HOW TO WORSHIP
DEVOTIONAL
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Worship is our response to the greatness of God and all that He has done. We worship God in spirit and in truth, with reverence and awe. Worship is all week, not compartmentalized into one day, hour, or place. Real worship is offering ourselves fully to God. God is good, and His love endures forever. Jesus is worthy of trust and praise. God makes us new creations with a new identity in Christ. Security leads to humility and authenticity.
We are ambassadors for Jesus, ministers, priests, and the light of the world.
Our deepest identity is that we are now in God’s family forever as His sons and daughters. Jesus wants us to be baptized in water and publicly declare and celebrate that we are following Him. Baptism doesn’t earn salvation, but it’s part of growing in your relationship with Jesus. God wants to do great things in you and through you. The Holy Spirit will lead, teach, convict, empower, and comfort you (John 4:23-24).
DISCIPLESHIP QUESTIONS
1. Why does Jesus tell us to be baptized in water as believers? (Matthew 3:16-17)
2. Why is it significant to participate in a local church? (Acts 2:41-42)
3. How is repentance part of worship? (1 John 1:7-9)
4. How is it meaningful that you are in God’s family forever? (John 1:12-13)

7. How do we worship and thank God daily? (Psalm 100)
DISCIPLESHIP MILESTONES
1. Be baptized if you haven’t yet and encourage others to do the same.
2. Commit to going to church to worship God every Sunday.
3. Commit to honoring God with tithing (10 percent) off the top of your earnings.
This week, make plans to be baptized if you have not been baptized yet, and be intentional to increase worship, gratitude to God, repentance, and generosity.
