STAGE FOUR: HOW TO HANDLE THE WORD

2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
The Bible is a gift from God to us (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Our God communicates with us. Enjoy your personal relationship with Jesus and time in Scripture. God’s Word is eternal and fully reliable. When you open the Bible, read it, do it, and share it with others. Many people skip one or all three of these steps. This leads to cultural Christianity and keeps you from making the most of your opportunities.
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly.
The spiritual temperature in your home will change when you read God’s Word together often. Either sin will keep you from the Bible, or the Bible will keep you from sin. Jesus was tempted three times and always quoted Scripture in those moments. He sets an example for us and gives us a way out of every temptation. Take time to think about what you read and memorize verses too.
Your mind will be renewed, and God will fill you with an overflowing truth, hope, purity, and joy.
Personally, I love to read three chapters a day as part of a plan to read the entire Bible in a year. We have many Bible series on our website, justchoosehope.org. Share Scripture with other people and trust God with the results.

DISCIPLESHIP MILESTONES
1. Form a Bible reading plan. Justchoosehope.org has a read through the Bible is a year outline. That’s about three chapters a day and highly recommended.
2. Identify Scriptures you know but are not doing. Take action and be faithful.
3. Share what Bible verses you are reading and learning with other people during the week.
This week, form a daily Bible reading plan and write it down. Tell a friend and hold each other accountable as you encourage each other and grow in your faith together.
