WEEK THREE – SERMON NOTES

Esther’s Journey: More Hope

INTRODUCTION

God often does His greatest work in the darkest times. When the King issues a decree to annihilate the Israelites, the situation looked very bleak.

There is a spiritual battle that is invisible and intense. There is good and evil, light and darkness, truth and lies that wage war on a grand scale.

God will ultimately prevail over the devil, demons, darkness, and despair. God is Sovereign over the most powerful leaders and military armies. God works behind the scenes by providing a home for an orphan named Esther. His favor in her life leads to the deliverance of His people.

The Israelites will never be wiped off the face of the earth. God keeps His covenants. There are no limits to what God can do. The hope of God is indestructible, infinite, personal, and available (Romans 15:13).

BIG IDEA

God has made you to receive and give hope every day and everywhere. God exalts Esther to be a queen who trusts Him and brings hope to a desperate nation. Esther mobilizes her people to pray and fast for three days.

God hears the cries of the afflicted. God strongly supports those who look to Him and honor Him in the trials of life. God is a way maker. God is our source and never runs out of hope. Disappointment is temporary, but the hope of God is eternal.

This world is starving for hope. When you walk closely with God, His hope will overflow in your thoughts, words, and actions. Don’t be passive, make excuses, carry resentment, give up, be distracted, or be spiritually complacent. God empowers you to make a difference where you live, work, learn, and play. It’s time to choose hope and maturity and be all God designed us to be (Ephesians 4:11-16).

KEY POINTS

  • God’s provision is timely, and power is unstoppable.
  • God blesses you so that you can bless other people.
  • God’s infinite hope transforms nations and generations.
  • Trust God before you see the turnaround and restoration.
  • Stand up when people are scared and do what honors God.
  • God wants parents and children to serve together and bring out the best in each other.
  • We have hope in every situation because Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.

CONCLUSION

God always has the final say. At the end of our lives, we will come before Him and be held accountable. When people try to harm you, know that God will carry out all justice and vengeance.

Although people attack you, God can still bring good out of the worst situations. To live is Christ, and to die is gain. Heaven is our home. In the fiercest battles, God’s hope makes the difference.

Have confidence in God’s Word and trust Him with the results. There will be times when you take massive risks and make incredible sacrifices to help others. Remember Jesus as we live and love like the Lord. God overturned the evil decree of the king, and Jesus will prevail over all opposition. The gates of hell will not win against the Savior and His unstoppable kingdom.
