After the Ethiopian man decides to follow Jesus, Philip baptizes him in water. Baptism doesn’t save you. It is an outward expression of an inward decision. The word “baptism” means to immerse. It is a public declaration that someone follows Jesus. It is a picture of the death and resurrection of the Lord. Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River and commanded all of His followers to be baptized. Many people delay or deny being baptized. It’s an important step to grow in your faith. You can ask people if they have been baptized. People need encouragement to honor the Lord through obedience and water baptism.

Encourage someone to be baptized.
PRAYER
Faithful Father, Your plans and ways are good. You do all things well. We will never regret doing what You tell us to do. Water baptism is a blessing. Please help us bring up this significant topic in our relationships. Your joy is evident in every baptism. Thank You for people every day who are getting baptized around the world. We pray we can lead someone to take this step of faith for Your glory, amen.
