Read Ruth: 1:22-2:3 and then watch the DAY NINE video.
The barley harvest was beginning. God’s law demanded that farmers leave some of their crops for those in need. Ruth went to the fields to pick up the leftover grain. She was not passive or lazy. Love leads to diligence and service. Love has foresight and motivation. God wants us to have a good work ethic. Ruth gathers food for herself and Naomi. God blessed them with food, a relative named Boaz, and a season of harvesting.
What is one unselfish action you can take to benefit someone today?
VICTORY
Take the initiative to serve people with love, without strings attached or demands.
PRAYER
Gracious God, thank You for the health and strength that You give to us. Thank You for the ways that we can provide for people in need. All that we have belongs to You. We ask for wisdom to be good stewards of our blessings. We want to work diligently for Your glory, Jesus, amen.
