Chapter Two – NEW JOY
No one expected that the first miracle Jesus performed would be to turn water into wine. Yes, the festivities lasted for days, and it would be an embarrassing disappointment for the hosts to run out of the beverages.
This, however, was not one of mankind’s greatest needs. Certainly, there must be a deeper symbolism.
Jesus was bringing a joy that surpassed all earthly pleasures. Jesus was announcing that God’s power is greater than man’s efforts.
A relationship with God is superior to dead religion.
Heaven is received, not achieved by us. Jesus saves. Ultimately, there is a party in heaven that satisfies the soul and never ends. Zeal consumed Jesus as He would repeatedly rebuke the corrupt religious leaders and clear out the temple, removing the thieves who were taking advantage of people.
God is holy. Everyone should have access to God, and Jesus came to save sinners.
Love takes action. The glory of God was on display both in many settings and in radical ways.
Just Choose Hope

PRAYER
Gracious God, You are holy. Thank You, Jesus for tackling injustice and confronting corruption. You bring a joy that is pure and righteous. Your provision is our story. We rely on You every day. We want to not only receive from You, but also really live for You. May we share the gospel with people who are empty on the inside. For Your glory we pray, amen.
