Chapter Nine – SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT

How has Jesus changed your life? Sometimes keeping it simple is the best approach. I was blind, but now I see. Don’t make it too complicated.

Share your story and share your favorite Bible verses.

The blind man received what Jesus was offering. That will always be the key to a healthy spiritual life. There was a physical restoration from Jesus, a relational connection and affirmation, and a salvation that no one can take away. No one can snatch you from God’s hand or separate you from the love of Jesus. The religious leaders were cynical and tried to undermine the work of the Lord. They could not successfully silence the man or destroy the evidence of the miracle of Jesus.

False teachers still abound today.

The irony in the story is that the leaders had the real blindness – spiritual instead of physical. Jesus opens blind eyes, and those who do not think they need forgiveness or a Savior are still in their sin. The wages of sin is separation from God forever, but the gift of God is eternal life. The pardon is given to anyone who will be humble enough to receive the grace of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven through which we are saved.

PRAYER

Omnipotent God, You have taken us from darkness to light. In Jesus, we have the life that is truly life. It is by Your grace we have been saved. We know that our lives pass by quickly, and we don’t want to waste any time. We have a sense of urgency. We do not want to be passive and watch as people are deceived and perishing. Thank You for the Bible and how your word transforms. We ask for courage. Move in our hearts, homes, and cities. We pray for Your glory Jesus, amen.
