Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them.

DAY SEVENTEEN
God wants to empower His people to rise up and be part of the solution. When the number of leaders is lacking, there are people who will unnecessarily live in lack too. When people are not eager to serve, unfortunately there will be people who will not be served.
The Greek widows needed food and were being overlooked. That reality did not display the love of Jesus. There was simply no way the Twelve could cover all of the tasks.
In many churches, a small percentage of people are doing the heavy lifting, giving, and serving. God wants to mobilize and encourage all of His people to be active.
Passivity and complacency are not fulfilling.
When more servant leaders participated, there was provision for the widows and the word of God spread across the community. God’s solution is always for all of God’s people to find their roles and be ready to make a difference.
Let us encourage each other to move away from the sidelines and get in the game. Christianity is not a spectator sport, and you are a minister who carries the hope of God where you live, work, learn, and play.

PRAYER
Mighty God, please forgive us for not empowering and training more people. Help us to pass on what we have learned. We pray that more will pray, read the Bible, serve, share their faith, and give. We want to see the fullness of the potential of Your body. We cry out to You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
