SERMONS | 1 - The Power To Soar
84 Days Of Soaring
WEEK ELEVEN – COURAGE
DAY 72 – Not Intimidated
Where To Start
Read Acts 24:22-27 and then watch the DAY SEVENTY-TWO video.
Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus.
DEVOTIONAL
WEEK 11 – COURAGE
DAY SEVENTY-TWO
Consistency is convicting. With a legal ruling on the line and coming before well-known leaders, Paul never wavered in his words.
Standing before Jews and Gentiles, Paul brought the same message of hope. With Felix and his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, listening closely, Paul covered topics like righteousness and the judgment to come.
Paul was facing a possible earthly judgement, but he taught about a certain eternal judgment. The law makes it clear we have all broken God’s commands, and we are accountable to our Maker whom we will appear before one day.
Some people are like chameleons with their faith – singing in church and being silent in the community.
Bold on Sundays and bashful the rest of the week, Spiritual when it’s popular and shrinking back when there is resistance. That’s not like Jesus or Paul. Let’s return to Biblical Christianity together.
Just Choose Hope
HOPE POINT
Never let fear stop You from doing what is right.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
What do we know about Paul’s conversation with Felix and Drusilla?
How willing are you to share your faith with strangers?
How can you access a boldness that is greater than Your fears?
PRAYER
Almighty God, reading through the book of Acts, we are inspired and convicted. It is so different from our cultural version of following Jesus. We have tried to make it safe and easy. We confess we have lost hope in what You can do in our churches and cities. May we imitate Jesus more than we have ever before, for Your name’s sake. Amen.
