So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

DAY THIRTY-FOUR
In the Bible and life, the turning point is often prayer. Prayer is the hinge.
Herod was arresting and capturing Christians. The threat and fear were real. He had James killed, and the church was grieving. It appeared as though Peter might be killed, but God intervened. Gathered at Mary’s house, the mother of John, the church was united together in prayer.
Deep burdens become deep prayers.
It is easy to be discouraged and stop praying. It is easy to be distracted and forget to pray. It is easy to be lazy and avoid prayer. Pride blocks prayer but God gives grace to the humble.
He hears us when we cry out to Him. God is with us and moves powerfully when we agree in prayer. It is a mystery when and how God will intervene. There is clarity in our calling to travail on our knees.
The more we cultivate the habit of praying in groups, the more hope we experience. Prayer changes us, our perspective, and our peace, and sometimes God breaks through and completely turns around a dire situation.

PRAYER
Father God, we praise You in the middle of the storms of life. Help us to be flexible and faithful. We want to reject hopelessness and get on our knees to seek You. Thank You for angels and rescues. May You receive all the glory. In Jesus’ name we continue to cry out to You. Amen.
