Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.”
So Paul motioned with his hand and began his defense:

The apostle Paul was allowed to speak and share his defense. Festus gave Agrippa the case to lead and since he was in charge, he gave Paul permission to share.
Being able to speak in any context is a gift from God. Don’t ever take it for granted.
In a legal setting there is so much riding on every word. Paul prayed, waited, and listened to everyone else. He had done his homework to research the parameters and has watched all of the non-verbal clues.
All of these elements are factors in communicating well. Some people are going through a tragedy but give you permission to speak.
On social media, you might comment on someone’s post. At your workplace in a meeting, the table is yours. As your family eats a meal together, you have a window.
Make sure your words are true, they build up others, they come from a heart of love, they represent God well, and you think before you say them.

Paul had permission to talk at this point. You might only have one opportunity to communicate with someone on this side of heaven. Ask God for wisdom and for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

PRAYER
Gracious God, we are thankful for our country. You have blessed us abundantly. You have protected our ability to worship, pray, study the Bible, and have conversations about You. You have given us so many resources for our faith and platforms like social media, too. May we understand the times and follow Your lead to advance Your kingdom, God. Amen.
