As it is, we are in danger of being charged with rioting because of what happened today. In that case we would not be able to account for this commotion, since there is no reason for it.”

DAY FIFTY-SEVEN
We need voices of reason and wise people who can calm quarrels and rebellion. While the riots were raging, a city clerk stepped up to the proverbial microphone.
There will be many times, as a follower of Jesus, when you see a conversation or actions that are heading the wrong direction. You have the opportunity to say something before there is additional damage and regret.
It’s not easy to address people who are out of control or change the negative momentum in a community. Don’t be quiet when you know the right thing to do is to make a courageous statement or warning.
When you do speak, share facts, communicate clearly, be humble, and redirect people towards a positive option.
They might not appreciate what you say initially, but the redirection is worth the risks. Be someone who sets limits that set everyone up for success.

Why does God call us to be peacemakers and lead people to the Prince of Peace?
PRAYER
Omniscient God, no situation is too complex for You. We ask for wisdom with our words and thinking. We will not be slaves to our emotions and doing whatever we feel like doing. We stand in Your love and truth, Jesus. Our prayers are always in Your name and power. Amen.
