Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat. “For the last fourteen days,” he said, “you have been in constant suspense and have gone without food—you haven’t eaten anything.

WEEK 12 – PERSEVERANCE
DAY EIGHTY-ONE
God is full of compassion and faithful with provision.
A major part of following Jesus is knowing when and how to receive from God. God has nourishment that is vital.
In the wilderness, the Israelites were learning to collect manna every day, except for the Sabbath. On this voyage, Paul knew that the crew would need strength to make it to shore.
They needed to eat their remaining food and refuel. God guides with a keen sense of timing. Physical food for the stomach is a blessing.
Nourishment for your soul is even more significant.
During the day, you might be aware of your appetite for food. Pay attention to your soul and spiritual appetite. Many people have full stomachs and empty souls.
God wants to fill us with His presence, promises, word, and hope. You cannot share what you have not first received from God.

PRAYER
Holy Father, there is no one like You. You are perfect in wisdom and purity. Your thoughts and ways are above ours. We walk by faith and pick up our daily bread. Your timing is impeccable. May we walk with the wise and in step with the Holy Spirit. Our best decisions come from You, and we listen closely to Your voice, Jesus. Amen.
