DAY FORTY-TWO
Commit yourself to the Lord.
The Bible is clear that we are all ministers, priests, and ambassadors of Jesus.
It is essential that you realize God has given you a full-time ministry.
In one sense, we are all leaders because God has given us all influence and called us to lead people to God and to the Scripture. In another sense, there are leaders called elders, who lead local churches. There are qualifications in the Bible for elders, and they need to be above reproach and held accountable.
Elders are solid in their character and relationship with God. For everyone, our first calling is to follow Jesus. As we abide with the Lord, we want to be servant-leaders who bring out the best in other people.
Leading includes praying, sacrificing for God’s kingdom, being grateful, and being courageous to do the next right thing. “The priesthood of all believers” is a phrase to describe God’s vision in Scripture for us and how God wants to transform the world through all of us.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your plan to build up local churches. We pray for leaders today across our nation to honor You. We also pray that all of us will step up and lead our friends and family to You. Guide us as we lead our children. We want to lead people in our neighborhoods and workplaces to a close walk with You. We ask this all in Your name, Jesus. Amen.
