WEEK 9 – CALLING
DAY SIXTY-THREE
People twisted the truth and spread a terrible report about Paul. Maybe this has happened to you. It can be very painful.
In addition, the angry crowd dragged Paul out of the temple and tried to kill him. Verbal abuse turned physical. They claimed that Paul defiled the holy place. Their slander spread. It always does.
They reported their perception as fact, but they were off base. Paul was the victim, and they were vicious.
When it’s time for eagles to soar, crows will repeatedly try to peck and attack.
In nature, eagles know to continue to ascend, because there is an altitude where the crows can’t fly. You won’t be able to stop all the slander and cruel words. You may be wounded.
Rise above the crow zone.
May God arise, and His enemies be scattered. Keep your eyes on the Savior. Jesus will have the final say. Be comforted and secure in the One who overcame the same treatment.
Rejoice and praise God because this trial will pass. You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we forgive people who slander us. Forgive us when we have gossiped and slandered others. We want to rise above what is common in our culture. We have wounds from mean comments, but You are our Healer, Jesus. We are not rattled because our identity is in You, Lord. Amen.
