SERMONS | 1 - The Power To Soar
84 Days Of Soaring
WEEK FOUR – RELATIONSHIPS
DAY 22 – Scattered
Where To Start
Read Acts 8:1-8 and then watch the DAY TWENTY-TWO video.
And Saul approved of their killing him.
DEVOTIONAL
WEEK 4 – RELATIONSHIPS
DAY TWENTY-TWO
God is going to reach the world with His hope.
We are invited to collaborate with Jesus.
The martyrdom of Stephen caught the attention of the believers and the persecutors. Saul, who would later become the apostle Paul, was giving approval to his death. (God can sow seeds in hearts before conversions.)
Stephen’s devotion had an impact on Saul. Before he died, Stephen prayed for the people who murdered him. His prayer of forgiveness for them resembled the prayer of Jesus from the cross.
Persecution did not decrease after this tragedy, it increased greatly.
The disciples were dispersed throughout the region. What the enemy meant for evil God used to send out His people on mission. Opposition did not diminish their zeal. It added lighter fluid to the flames.
Just Choose Hope
HOPE POINT
God works through tragedies to reach more people.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
How did God use Stephen’s death in Saul’s life?
How is it good for God’s people to scatter?
What were some positive responses by the disciples?
PRAYER
Father God, thank You for the times that Your people gather during the week. Thank You also for the times we spread out with purpose. Help me to see my workplace, neighborhood, and nation like You see it. I want to make the most of my opportunities for Your glory, Jesus. Amen.
